The British Association for Romantic Studies
On arrival at this international conference, 'Romanticism's Debatable Lands', the 200 delegates were shown a video projection of 'Limbo-Land', which was produced by artists Zoë Walker and Neil Bromwich who use contemporary Romantic imagery in their work.
Art for Conferences also commissioned artist/poet Alec Finlay to create a circle poem that was made into high quality enamelled brooches presented to each delegate.
Images of both artworks were printed onto postcards, thus providing further unique mementos of the conference and its content.
Lovely scenes of the beach, which were shot beautifully. The brooch and cards are attractive souvenirs.
Dr Gillian Hughes, Research Fellow University of Stirling
I liked using the two cards as postcards to send to friends, feeling that this gave them a sense of what I was doing at the conference and what its wider cultural context was.
Oxford delegate
Excellent idea, a great way to start the conference. The brooch is a lovely souvenir that has an enigmatic and intriguing text.
